THE Evening Times has made headlines at a charity fashion event.

Enterprising pupils from Bishopbriggs Academy created skirts and dresses from old copies of the paper as part of a charity fund-raising show.

Fifteen sixth-year pupils turned newsprint into high fashion and showed off their designs at local restaurant Oregano.

School captains Andrew McGuire and Cheryl Carrigan dressed two models in copies of The Evening Times and our sister paper The Herald for the event - part of the Scholars' Challenge to raise cash for The Prince's Trust.

Staff and pupils also modelled a range of clothes from high street outlets such as Coast and Slaters.

The budding entrepreneurs aim to raise £20,000 to help disadvantaged young people.
