A WOMAN today told how she was battered by two teenage girls after a night out with her boyfriend.
The 23-year-old, who does not want to be named, was assaulted and robbed at a Glasgow Subway station and is urging anyone who knows the gang of two girls and a boy to come forward.
As revealed in last night's Evening Times, the woman from Drumchapel was beaten and stamped on the head and left with facial injuries.
It happened moments after she waved goodbye to her boyfriend at St George's Cross station at 8.35pm on Monday night.
As she entered the station she was approached from behind and knocked to the ground.
She was left with bruises, a black eye, a swollen nose and lips and lumps on her head. The girls, thought to be around 15-17, started the attack. Then a boy appeared and became involved.
Today the victim said: "I can't believe what has happened and am still in complete shock.
"I saw the teenagers hanging about and heard them shouting. The next thing I knew I was jumped and was being stamped on and punched and I was screaming for help.
"It seemed to last for ages and I didn't think they were going to stop. I was worried in case they had a knife and I was in fear of my life."
The young woman was looking forward to starting a college course next week in mental health nursing but has been left devastated. She added: "I will never use that station again as I feel it is too isolated. I would advise any woman to be extra vigilant."
The teenage gang ran off with the woman's purse containing a small amount of cash.
The woman needed hospital treatment but was later allowed home.
Detective Inspector John Harrington, of the British Transport Police, said: "Our inquiries are continuing into the incident which we are treating as a random attack. We would stress this is not a regular occurrence on the Subway."
Police are asking witnesses to call 0800 405040.
