HE may still have a few years to go before he can drive one but Arun Uttamchandani is Glasgow's biggest bus fan.

And the six-year-old from Shawlands got a special treat when he helped celebrate the fifth birthday of the Scotstoun depot.

The Hutcheson Grammar pupil was given a cake after he was made guest of honour.

Today his mum Barbara said: "The numbers on the buses have fascinated him since he was two and a half. That was when he started recognising them.

"Number 29 goes past our home, and whenever we go somewhere, he just want to take the bus and hates going by car."

And Arun, who wants to do something with buses when he grows up, added: "I love going around Glasgow. I want to make up my own route."

Depot boss George King showed Arun how the doors and ticket machines operated as well as riding a single decker through a bus wash.

Mr King said: "When a boy is so enthusiastic, it is great."
