999 crews rushed to an incident on a busy Glasgow road last night.

Police say they were called to the Clydeside Expressway near Finnieston shortly after 6pm on Saturday, April 20.

The force was called to a report of a two-vehicle smash on the road.

However, prior to cops arriving, the occupants of one car allegedly ran off from the location.

Luckily, there have been no reported injuries from the crash.

Meanwhile, a 37-year-old man was been arrested and charged in connection with alleged road traffic offences.

He has been released on an undertaking to appear in court at a later date.

Police have said an investigation into the incident remains underway.

During the ordeal, Glasgow City Council said the roads westbound carriageway off-slip on to Finnieston Street was forced to close shortly after 6.45pm.

It reopened shortly after 7.45pm, the local authority confirmed.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said:  “Around 6.20pm on Saturday, April 20, 2024, police received a report of a road crash involving two vehicles on the Clydeside Expressway near Finnieston.

"Prior to emergency services arriving, the occupants of one car ran off from the location.

"There are no reports of any injuries and enquiries are ongoing.

"A 37-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences.

"He has been released on an undertaking to appear at court at a later date."
