Stephen Naysmith

Social affairs correspondent

I cover the public and voluntary sectors for the twice-weekly Society page in the Herald, and in the news pages. I have a particular interest in how Scotland addresses some of its ingrained health and social problems. As a freelance and as an employee of the Big Issue in Scotland, subsequently at the Sunday Herald and now at The Herald, I've spent much of my career highlighting issues such as poverty, young people's issues, justice and social justice. I am a member of the Glasgow Children's Panel, have built my own greenhouse and enjoy hunting for wild mushrooms.
