Fatima Yamaha is back at SWG3

NO matter how hard he tries, or for how long he tries for, the Dutch producer Fatima Yamaha might never make a better tune than “What’s a Girl to Do?,” his low-key 2004 B-side.

PROPER partying returns to SWG3 this weekend, after a barren post-Hogmanay period that saw precisely zero tradionally “big” clubbing events lightning up Finnieston’s favourite warehouse venue. Helena Hauff at the Sub Club

Glasgow is one of the places that Skream enjoys coming to most. It is his home from home, his sanctuary, his happy place. The London-based dubstep originator-turned-techno-stalwart knows that he can pitch up on Jamaica Street and blast the Subbie’s more-than-willing patrons with five hours of back-to-back bassy rhythms, electronic house, dubbed out disco, dancehall and funky tech, and they’re going to love it. “The music policy can be anything from funk, to disco, to house or techno,” he says, “generally starting at about 100bpm and ending around 130bpm – but allowing the vibe inside the club and on the dancefloor to take me wherever it desires.” On top of all that, tonight’s show is the last night of the UK titan’s tour, so expect things to be doubly decadent down there.
