Verdict: five stars.

Earlier this year, Kylie Minogue closed the Commonwealth Games in spectacular style leaving the city in awe of her perfect pop performance.

And tonight, Glasgow's favourite showgirl made her Hydro debut as her Kiss Me Once tour rolled into town.

Bringing something for the fashionistas - her stage costumes were designed by Jean Paul Gaultier, Dolce & Gabbana, Julien MacDonald and Marchesa - and a whole lot of fabulousness.

Kylie proved she is the queen of reinvention - a label usually reserved for Madonna - with one of her sexiest shows to date.

Opening up with sultry franglish album track Les Sex, the pint-sized pop star gave Miley Cyrus a run for her money as she emerged sprawled on a oversized set of luscious lips.

The Calvin Harris produced track In My Arms quickly followed before she launched into the uptempo dance hit Timebomb.

She said, "Thank you. Good evening Glasgow," before adding, "Your all so mad."

It might be Kylie's thirteenth concert tour but a Minogue show wouldn't be complete without the gay anthem Your Disco Needs You.

The song brought the Hydro alive and let's face it no disco would be complete without a bit of Kylie.

The Aussie star then took it back to the 80s with her backing dancers taking on Barbie and Ken, an idea which really brought the section alive.

Hand on you Heart, Never Too Late and Got to be Certain reminded fans why they have loved Kylie for more than two decades.

The iconic I Should Be Lucky saw Kylie climb into the bath, in a similar fashion to the original video, and watching it on stage was just as magical as the iconic video.

You have to hand it to creative director William Baker, he keeps Kylie current to compete with her contemporaries but offers fans the nostalgia they crave for.

Next up we had bondage Kylie, although she somehow made it look fashionable.

A poignant cover of INXS' Need Your Tonight allowed her to pay tribute to former boyfriend Michael Hutchence while the Cathy Dennis' penned Can't Get You Out Of My Head had us all bopping our heads.

Kylie knows too well it's her fans that keep her at the top of her game, and she showed her appreciation for them by taking Robert, who had been to 50 shows on stage for a selfie.

Meet the Scots Kylie superfan who finally met her on stage in Glasgow

Love at First Sight, Locomotion and All the Lovers brought the show closer to an end.

The star even took a few requests from the audience, a rarity for planned shows, and she sang Better the Devil You Know and Tears on my Pillow.

But it was Into the Blue - one of the star's finest songs in years - that saw Kylie finally bid farewell to her Scottish audience.

The Queen of pop is a honour that gets thrown around too easily between all of pop's biggest female stars.

When you have been in the business as long as Kylie, can hold a show without the distraction of dancers and sing live, you really deserve the royal seal of approval.

And tonight's Hydro show proved that Kylie is the real queen of pop, while the rest are perhaps pretenders.
