A NORTH Yorkshire power station appears to be completely destroyed in an explosion, in the latest trailer for the Fast & Furious franchise.
Hobbs & Shaw, starring Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, Jason Statham and Idris Elba, hits big screens this summer, and the latest trailer for the blockbuster was released by Universal Pictures on Thursday.
As reported exclusively in The Press last year, the spin-off filmed for a week at Eggborough Power Station near Selby in November, with the cooling towers and surrounding area standing in - with a generous application of computer generated imagery - for "the toxic wasteland of Chernobyl".
The first trailer for the film was revealed in February and featured shots of a chase and battle at the power station, and the latest trailer opens with a convoy of vehicles approaching the cooling towers, and includes what appears to be a massive explosion on the site, from which Elba - as villain Brixton - emerges unscathed.
Hobbs & Shaw stars Johnson as Luke Hobbs and Statham as Deckard Shaw, and is the latest in the Fast & Furious franchise, which has made almost $5bn over eight films.
Directed by David Leitch, the film is due for release on August 2.
