GFT,

From today

THIS weekend, the City Centre picturehouse celebrates 80 years of cinema on Rose Street. The Cosmo, the grand single-screen cinema that became Glasgow Film Theatre in 1974, first opened its doors in May 1939. To mark the occasion, staff have chosen four films from across the decades, each of which celebrates the magic, wonder and unique fascination of the cinema experience. These screenings are all offered completely free. Tonight it’s Mulholland Drive. Tomorrow will see The Wizard of Oz before things round off on Sunday with Cinema Paradiso.
