It is regarded as one of the all time great British debut albums.

But when the sun goes down in Glasgow on December 8, the Arctic Monkeys classic first release is to be reinvented - thanks to a full cover by a brass band.

Old Dirty Brasstards will perform every track from ‘Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not’ at SWG3.

The truly unique will see the band’s indie rock sound on tracks such as Mardy Bum, Fake Tales of San Francisco and The View from the Afternoon replaced by trombones, tubas and trumpets.

The band has covered The Killers’ Hot Fuss, Oasis’ Definitely Maybe and Taylor Swift’s 1989 at previous gigs.

The page for the event states: “Now regarded as a timeless classic in British music history, we’re taking infectious floor-fillers like ‘Dancing Shoes’ and the generation-defining delights of ‘I Bet That You Look Good On The Dancefloor’ and converting them into brass pipe bangers."
