Away from Brad Pitt’s personal life, he is gearing up to release a dramatic new period drama called Allied, and the latest trailer looks as intense as any film he’s been in before.

The new clip shows Brad’s character, intelligence officer Max Vatan, and Marion Cotillard’s French Resistance fighter Marianne Beausejour, falling in love behind enemy lines while in North Africa in 1942.

They later reunite in London and go on to get married and have a child together, against the backdrop of the Second World War.

But it is certainly no smooth-sailing love story, as Max is soon faced with the dilemma of having to kill his wife if she is a German spy as officials so believe.

It looks dramatic and edgy and typical of director Robert Zemeckis, whose catalogue of movies includes Back To The Future, Cast Away and Forrest Gump.

The film is set for release in cinemas on November 23.

The release of the trailer comes just two weeks after Oscar-winning French actress Marion, 41, was forced to deny she had any involvement in her co-star’s marriage split from Angelina Jolie.

Brad and Angelina’s shocking split was revealed as she filed for divorce from her husband of two years.

Marion was dragged into the divorce, with reports that she and Brad had embarked on an affair while filming Allied.

She responded to the gossip with a post on her Instagram page, while also confirming she is expecting her second child with French actor and director Guillaume Canet.

Her lengthy post, a rare reaction to such news and posted along with a picture of a bird flying among the stars, saw her write: “To those who have indicated that I am devastated, I am very well thank you. This crafted conversation isn’t distressing.

“And to all the media and the haters who are quick to pass judgment, I sincerely wish you a swift recovery.”

“I do very much wish that Angelina and Brad, both of whom I deeply respect, will find peace in this very tumultuous moment,” she added.

Angelina, 41, filed for divorce from Brad, 52, earlier this month, citing irreconcilable differences.
