From 12th November, Six by Nico will take diners down the rabbit hole as The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party menu arrives in the Finnieston restaurant.

Just in time for Halloween, Glasgow foodies are invited to follow chef Nico Simeone into Wonderland, and escape reality with an eccentric menu themed around one of the most well-known children’s tales of all time.

Six by Nico has made a name for itself with its six-week rotating kitchen that prepares a six course menu based on a different theme. Previous themes have been the flavours of New York, comfort food and everyone's favourite - the chippie menu.

Inspired by the whimsical world of Alice in Wonderland, The Mad Hatter’s Tea Party themed menu will recall childhood tales with a colourful feast, fine dining style.

The Mad Hatter is one of the most famous movie characters ever to be imagined, known for his quirkiness and peculiarity in nature.

Whilst guests dining at Six by Nico do not require shrinking to three inches, need to answer baffling riddles, or encounter psychedelic Cheshire cats, their imaginations will certainly be pushed to new limits with a menu that pairs empire biscuits with parmesan truffles, and is colourful and expressive in its own unique way.

Each course is themed on a line from the classic novel and blends an array of non-traditional ingredients.

The first course is titled Eat Me, Drink Me and consists of a mushroom consommé, empire biscuit, parmesan truffle, white kappa and quince.

Chester Cat Copy Cat is a course of Chicken liver parfait, orange jelly and toasted sourdough.

Steak Tartare follows, paired with a colourful addition of green olive tapenade, tomato tartare and goats cheese panna cotta.

Checkmate is the fourth course - Sole, black garlic emulsion, cauliflower and lemon verbena foam.

The penultimate course is Off With His Head, the iconic Alice and Wonderland line, and consists of pork fillet, head croquette, black pudding, roasted carrot and spiced prune.

The final course is Queen of Hearts, although sounds a lot more appealing than the Alice and Wonderland Queen that we have become accustomed to: white chocolate mousse, red velvet cake, raspberries topped with pecan brittle.

"If you're after a magical food adventure then our latest theme at Six by Nico is for you.

"Guests throughout November and the festive period will be transported down the rabbit hole to enjoy our whimsical dining experience as we present the magical world of Alice in Wonderland with our Mad Hatters Tea Party."
