A GLASGOW actor has become the youngest winner of a Scotland New Talent Award.
Daniel Kerr, 12, took the acting performance award at the annual Bafta in Scotland New Talent Awards at Glasgow's Oran Mor, last night.
He was applauded by other acting hopefuls from across Scotland as he received the award for his portrayal of a young Paul Ferris in The Wee Man, a film of the gangster's life.
The State of Greenock, the first film written by Gavin Grant, 30, who was born in Greenock, won the Entertainment gong.
It is a 'mockumentary' set in 2020 imagining the town as independent from the rest of the UK. The film took £50 to make and was shot in one day.
Glasgow filmmaker Simone Smith, who wrote, directed, produced and edited the short film RED which was screened at the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner in 2012, was the winner in the editor category.
The panellists are all highly experienced film professionals, some of whom are former Bafta winners, including Zam Salim, who won Best Director at 2012's Bafta in Scotland awards.
