UPMARKET packaging – heavy glass bottle and wooden screw-top - tells you this a toner that comes with a price tag. But is the expense worth it?

The floral scent immediately reminded me of the ‘rose petal perfume’ I used to like making as a child (scooping up rose petals from the garden into a jar and then adding water?). It is fresh, subtle and refreshing.

Described as an “elixir of pressed rose petals, neroli, chamomile and willow bark”, the instructions are to sweep it across the skin morning and evening after cleansing to relieve “tired, tight” skin.

Hyaluronic acid promises “deep, skin-reviving moisturisation”. With Christmas party season in full swing and most of us probably indulging in too many late nights and skin-drying tipples, it is a perfect pick-me-up.

My skin certainly felt softer and refreshed after using it – but I’m not convinced that the effects totally merit the price, and I’ve probably felt more benefit from comparable toners in the £30-40 price range.
