WHAT better time than January to make a few style resolutions?

For some men, that’ll mean looking to smarten up. If so, M&S is the place to go, with its biggest ever tailoring range and fitting service - headed up by model and style ambassador David Gandy - ready and willing to help.

With this in mind, Kirsty Warwick, the store manager at M&S Argyle Street in Glasgow, gave us her top tips for finding the perfect suit.

- Pop into your local M&S for a free fitting that will help you pick the perfect outfit.

- Always re-check your measurements. You may have a suit in your wardrobe that has served you well, but it doesn’t mean that you can just grab the same size and it’ll fit the same. Try on the sizes above and below to see if the fit feels better.

- Choose a style that suits you. Slim-fit suits are still very popular, but if you feel a regular fit looks better, go for that. Looking good in a suit is completely personal, so don’t feel that you have to make a decision based on what the model or friends are wearing.

- Embrace innovation. Lots of men rely on good suits every single day. M&S is famous for its first machine washable suit and water repellent Stormwear suits, meaning you can look good with less effort.

- Mix and match. M&S was the first retailer to sell jackets and trousers separately so sizes and styles could be mixed up. The M&S suit fitters can help you experiment with styles.
