A GLASGOW pub is serving up a sweet treat for cider drinkers this spring.
The Projectionist Hungry Horse bar at Braehead is selling Parma Violet Cider.
Made by Brothers and available in Greene King pubs across the UK, it is bound to divide opinion between those who love the flowery-flavoured childhood sweets, and those who cannot stand them.
Served in a 330ml bottle, it has a “delicate flavour of sweet violets with a hint of floral notes, best served over ice,” according to the team behind it.
Calum Cameron, senior drinks category manager at Greene King, said: “The trend for flavoured cider is huge at the moment, which is why we worked with Brothers to create this new cider. We’re really excited to launch it across our pubs, including the Projectionist in Glasgow.
“Brothers are known for their array of different flavoured drinks.”
It’s not the first time unusual alcoholic drinks have caused a stushie in Glasgow – in December 2017, a pub in Calton served up an Irn Bru flavoured beer.
The cider is gluten free and suitable for vegans. To find out more visit www.greeneking.co.uk.
