IF there’s one things Glasgow’s starting to get pretty good at, its offering up a right good brunch. And what better way to get the weekend off to a great start with pals than with a boozy one?

Here, we’ve chosen nine of our favourite places in and around town for a late breakfast. It’ll no doubt keep on expanding, so get in touch with us with your top spot:

So L.A.
Mitchell Street
Saturday 12pm to 4pm and Sunday 11am to 4pm

Glasgow’s newest and hippest restaurant recently launched a California-inspired brunch menu, which includes a croissant burger overflowing with silky mac ‘n’ cheese, gourmet steak and eggs and french toast covered in edible flowers. They also do a prosecco brunch for two deal that comes with a bottle of fizz. Head to solaglasgow.com/calibrunch.

Comet Pieces
Queen Margaret Drive
All day

Famed for its breakfast rolls, this West End eatery is no ordinary roll shop. They do Morton’s crispy rolls absolutely rammed with fillings. Why not opt for haggis, hash brown, fried egg bacon bits and whisky sauce, all in the one bun? Or even pulled pork, mac and cheese, pickled slaw and mustard? Oh, and they also do a pretty mean poutine. Head to cometpieces.co.uk.

Hug and Pint
Great Western Road
Saturday and Sunday, 12pm to 5pm

The team’s boozy brunch was so well received in December that it was extended. Every weekend, enjoy three dishes from a revolving menu along with three drinks, all for £20. Cannae whack it.

Bar Soba
Mitchell Lane, Merchant Square and Byres Road
Friday to Sunday, 12pm to 4pm

Two courses, plus four drinks each at just £25 per person, choose from buttermilk fried chicken katsu curry, Singapore street noodles or small plates which include gyoza. Visit barsoba.co.uk.

The Dam
Brunswick Street

The new Merchant City venue serves up rolls with homemade pork sausage patty or smoked bacon, scrambled egg and cheddar cheese and also stuffed french toast. Head to thedamglasgow.com.

The Gardener
Ashton Lane
Saturday and Sunday, 11am to 1pm

Tucked away in the West End is The Gardener which offers a boozy brunch along with the omlette of the day or smashed avocado with poached egg. If it’s lovely out, dine al fresco then peruse one of the many bars along the lane.

Singl-end Cafe
Renfrew Street
All day

We love this bakehouse that’s definitely off the beaten track. The betty and meaty baked eggs are to die for. And don’t even get us started on their coffee and cakes. Check it out for yourself at thesingl-end.co.uk.

Kilmurry & Co.
Kilmarnock Road
All day

With meat is supplied by Campbell’s Prime Meat and fish from Bernard Corrigan’s, grab your mates and head along to Shawlands for their small plates menu, that includes turkish eggs, cured meat platter and homemade waffles. Head to kilmurryandco.co.uk.

Public House by Nico

The West End’s latest offering from top chef Nico Simeone swerves up a mean breakfast menu at the weekend, with meals including steak and eggs, a breakfast roll trippler and glazed smoked haddock rarebit omelette. We’re salivating at the thought. Pop over to publichousebynico.co.uk.
