Glasgow chefs in some of the city’s trendiest restaurants are gearing up for National Seafood Week which launches today. 

The annual campaign, which aims to get people eating at least 2 portions of seafood a week, has created a list of the best seafood restaurants in Glasgow, from the fashionable streets of Finnieston to the popular Merchant City.  

Here are just some of the best places in Glasgow where you can grab a seafood fix:

Crabshakk

Seafood hotspot Crabshakk on Argyle Street has remained one the the city's favourite fish restaurants after opening in 2009.

Loved by Glasgow diners, the restaurant can also tally its celeb-fans after ex-footballer David Beckham was spotted dining in the restaurant on Wednesday.  

National Seafood Week are encouraging diners to enjoy their delicious oysters, Fruits de Mer and muscles – which got the seal of approval from Becks who said they were “cooked to perfection” in a story to his Instagram followers.

Gandolfi Fish

Located in the clasy Merchant City area, Gandolfi Fish can be found in the long-stading Cafe Gandolfi on Albion Street. 

Grab a delicous fish dish after a hard day of shopping - a firm favourite on the menu is The Gandolfi Fish Pie, guaranteed to warm you up on a cold autmun day. 

The Finnieston

The Finnieston on Argyle Street can cater to not only your hunger but also to your thirst, with a carefully handcrafted selection of gin behind the bar for that extra special experience.

The Fish People Cafe

Travel a little bit out of the city centre into the bustling southside and you'll find The Fish People Cafe on Scotland Street. 

Located right beside Shields Road subway station, the restaurant has been serving diners for 7 years and remains as popular than ever. 

Highlights on their menu include a chunky fish stew and Cumbrea rock oysters.
