The Citizens Theatre will host its second 50p ticket sale of 2019 this Saturday, 9 March, at Tramway.  Savvy shoppers will be able to pick up bargain tickets for Nora: A Doll’s House, a bold adaptation of Ibsen’s classic text by Stef Smith.

From 10 am on Saturday 9 March, 100 tickets for Nora: A Doll’s House will be available for 50p.  Tickets are available over 10 performances and can only be purchased in person at Tramway.

Nora: A Doll’s House is the first production in the Citizens Women season; a season committed to putting women actors, directors and stories centre stage.  A poetic reimagining of the classic text by Henrik Ibsen, Stef Smith’s radical adaptation tells Nora’s story over three time periods: exploring the role of women from the turn of the century, through women’s suffrage and into modern times.

Directed by Elizabeth Freestone, she describes it as

a powerful rollercoaster charting the tumultuous events of three days in a deeply troubled household. Secrets are revealed, lives turned inside out and the wider ills of society exposed

Almost 4,000 50p tickets have been sold since Dominic Hill revived the 50p ticket offer in his first season at the Citizens Theatre in 2012. The offer honours the Citizens Theatre’s historic reputation for offering world-class theatre at affordable prices.
