A CELTIC fan is to stand trial after pleading not guilty to breach of the peace by throwing a flare or smoke canister at an SPL match.
Callum Connelly, 19, from Coatbridge, is alleged to have thrown such an item at Tynecastle Stadium at the Hearts versus Celtic fixture on November 28 last year, so that smoke blew towards spectators causing fear and alarm for their safety and that of the stewards.
Fiscal Depute Arlene Shaw told Edinburgh Sheriff Court she was not opposed to bail but with conditions.
She asked that Connelly be banned from attending regulated football matches and entering Tynecastle Stadium.
Sheriff Paul Arthurson QC agreed to the conditions.
