BRAEHEAD has gone electric.
The mall has become the first in Scotland to offer a charging point for an electric car.
With the help of a grant from Transport Scotland, the shopping centre has not only installed the rapid charger - which charges a car to 80% of its battery capacity in only 30 minutes - but also four fast charging points. These units give a full charge in three to four hours.
The charging points are in the Green Car Park, outside the Marks and Spencer Food Hall entrance.
One of the first electric car drivers to use the new rapid charger yesterday, while she went shopping, was mum-of-three Karen Bain, from Uplawmoor, Renfrewshire.
The 42-year-old, said: "This is really handy as I can nip in for half an hour, have a coffee and by the time I come out, my car is charged."
