Rossvale are on the lookout for their third team boss in under a year following the surprise resignation of Alan Jack.

The 37-year-old cited pressing family commitments for his decision which comes less than four months after he assumed the Bishopbriggs-based Central Second Division club's hotseat in a blaze of publicity.

He said: "This was a very difficult call to make, but my family have to come first and I have been totally up front with Rossvale's committee.

"I just cannot give them my total commitment and anything less would be cheating them and possibly stifling the development of the team in the season ahead.

"And just to underline there has been no fall-out I would like to say this is a terrific club with a bunch of hard-working club officials and the gaffer's post here is one I have no hesitation in recommending to any would-be manager out there.

"Unfortunately it is not for me at this time and neither can I envisage myself getting back into the game in the foreseeable future."

Elsewhere, word on the terracing reckons relegation-threatened Central First Division outfit Cambuslang Rangers have concluded the interview process and are on the verge of appointing John Brogan as their new team manager.

One-time Pollok and Partick Thistle signing Andy Frame - currently in charge of amateurs Whitefield Rovers - was also in the running for the Somervell Park post, however club officials are thought to have plumped for the greater Junior nous of Brogey, who was in charge at Yoker Athletic until controversially tendering his resignation last month.

And belated congratulations to Wishaw, whose 2-1 victory over East Kilbride Thistle on Monday night sealed promotion for the John McKeown-steered side and sees them step up along with Vale of Clyde and champions Blantyre Vics, who are to be presented with their Central Second Division trophy prize at their final league game of the season at home to East Kilbride on Saturday.

Meanwhile, one hears constructive talks have taken place aimed at settling the dispute that resulted in Port Glasgow being evicted from their state-of-the-art Parklea ground by landlords Inverclyde Council.

And finally, West Region officials made the the draw for the Euroscot Eng Central League Cup semi-finals and kept alive the prospect of an all-Super Premier final between Clydebank and Kirktintilloch Rob Roy with the pairings of Rutherglen Glencairn/Cumbernauld v Lesmahagow/Rob Roy and Clydebank/Shettleston v Kilsyth Rangers/Thorniewood.
