WASTE recycling company Viridor had held on to a contract to transform rubbish from South Lanarkshire Council premises.
The contract, which has been secured for a further four years with options for extensions, retains the service the company has provided since 2001 and safeguards 20 local jobs.
Steven Don, Scottish regional manager for Viridor, said: "Not only will it transform waste across the authority's estate, it will ensure 355 council offices and depots, schools, libraries, day care and community centres meet the requirements of the Scottish Government's ambitious zero waste agenda.
"We look forward to continuing to transform waste for South Lanarkshire in the time ahead."
