A DIAMOND owned by Sir Sean Connery has sold for more than £2.6million at auction.
The fancy orangy-pink diamond pendant, weighing 15.2 carats went for $4,044,162 at Sotheby's in Geneva.
The diamond went for around twice the estimated value which was between £1-1.59million.
Th auction also saw a new world auction record for any diamond of any colour or any gemstone when a blue diamond sold for £31.9m ($48,468,158).
Previously called the “Blue Moon diamond”, the magnificent stone was purchased by a private collector from Hong Kong tonight who has renamed the record-breaking jewel “The Blue Moon of
Josephine”.
