GLASGOW school pupils have been on an outdoor adventure.
For students of Shawlands Academy, in Mossside Road, recently took part in a five-day residential trip to the Outward Bound Trust’s (OBT) Loch Eil education centre in The Highlands.
The group of 30 pupils, aged between 12 and 13, were joined by two employees from the gas distribution company SGN.
The young adventurers and the employees, who are part of a the gas firm's mentoring team, took part in a variety of outdoor adventures including rock climbing, canoeing, orienteering, an overnight expedition and a variety of other teambuilding activities.
Pamela Goee, SGN’s Head of Community, said: “We’d worked with Shawlands Academy before, so they were our first port of call when considering which schools to approach.
“The week was a great success and our mentors are already talking to the school about how they can build on the relationship they’ve established with the pupils.”
Donald McBride, a teacher at Shawlands Academy, added: “After last year’s trip with SGN, we jumped at the chance when they asked if we’d like to be involved again.
"Outdoor learning is an integral part of what we do here at Shawlands and we were delighted that the company was willing to provide such a rich, fun and engaging week for our students.”
