IT emerged yesterday that Rangers’ swoop for Niko Kranjcar had hit the skids – as his missus didn’t fancy swapping New York for Govan.

For me, I think Rangers will just move on to the next player on the list rather than talk someone into coming to the club who isn’t sure.

Kranjcar was a decent player but also an experienced one. That was important, you always need two or three experienced lads there as well. He’d have done a job.

But, his wife is obviously wearing the trousers and wants to stay in America!

I wouldn’t imagine it will be a problem for Mark. I’d like to think he’ll have someone else in mind.

If the man doesn’t want to come, that’s that. There’s no point crying over spilt milk.

Out of him and Joey Barton, I think Rangers have managed to sign the right one.

You have a man at 33-years-old, he has experience of playing at the highest level and has calmed himself down. We’ll need to wait and see if he does that during the first Old Firm game but that’s another story!

But they have that genuine holding midfielder, which is a huge bonus for Mark Warburton. Most Rangers fans will be excited by that.

That’s four players in already, there may well be another three. I said months ago we need to bring in better players and looking at the likes of Barton, Josh Windass, Matt Crooks and Jordan Rossiter, that’s what has happened.
