Braehead Clan have made another top signing this summer - the Evening Times.

For the third season running Glasgow's top newspaper will team up with Scotland's biggest ice hockey team as they embark on a crusade towards the Elite Ice Hockey League title.

Playing out of the Braehead Arena on the banks of the River Clyde, Clan have become a sporting phemonenon since their inception in 2010.

Regularly playing in front of sell-out crowds of 3,500, they have quickly established themselves as the fastest growing sporting organisation in the country and continue to go from strength to strength.

Over the past two years the Evening Times has played a key role in that development by opening up Braehead to a wider audience, and Gareth Chalmers, Clan hockey and operations director, is delighted to have the Evening Times back on board as their official media partner.

“The support we have had from the Evening Times in the last couple of years has been phenomena," he said.

"They have done as much as anyone in helping us promote the club and Ice Hockey to the wider Glasgow and West of Scotland public.

“It was fantastic to see them now have a Braehead Clan tab on the sports section of their website”.

Herald and Evening Times head of sport Stewart Weir added: "The partnership between the two organisations is something that we really value here.

"Braehead are a club that continue to grow at an amazing rate and we're happy to be a part of their success once again."

Braehead supporters can expect even more coverage of their favourite team both in SportTimes and online at www.eveningtimes.co.uk at the dedicated Braehead Clan section.

On top of that, we will soon bring you a live Facebook Q&A chat with some of the Clan's top men, allowing you to get your questions in ahead of the start of the season.

Weir added: "We are committed to being innovative with our coverage and Clan is a part of that.

"Their fan base is nothing short of remarkable and, in an online sense, is second to none. With that in mind, we're looking forward to offering them even more this season."
