A dancer and choreographer who has worked with major international stars including Kylie Minogue is on the hunt for young city talent.

Tim Noble is the founder of Stars of the Future which staged managed the opening ceremonies of the Commonwealth Games.

He has launched a UK talent competition and is hoping young dancers will attend the Scottish round of the competition in Grangemouth next month.

Tim said: "We have held a couple of heats previously in Glasgow and the response was fantastic but this year were unable to get a suitable venue.

"I know the competition is always very strong in Scotland because the kids and the dance academies work extremely hard."

The stage manager of the Stars of the Future event is Ross Gunning, a graduate of the Royal Scottish Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow and the founder and conductor of the Glasgow Philharmonia Orchestra.

The competition is open to children aged from four to 17 and over with the Grangemouth heats being held on October 9 and 16.

Tim said: "The finals will be in Manchester when we are expecting 1500 dancers on the day and up to 4000 spectators.

"I have done lots of work in Scotland over the last 11 years and I would encourage young performers to enjoy a new, fresh and positive experience.

"The idea of Stars of the Future is to raise the bar for these types of events.

"The biggest artist of my career and my favourite is Kylie Minogue. I was her dance partner and choreographer for seven years."

As well as featuring on her Spinning Around video, Tim has also worked with Madonna, Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani and Sophie Ellis-Bextor.

He said: "I have been a lucky boy and want to pass on what I know to the stars of the future.

"I want to provide exciting, fun and positive events so the children can go away feeling inspirational with a smile on their faces."
