Glasgow-born actor John Barrowman has taken to Twitter visibly shocked after two police officers were shot dead yards from his home.
The Doctor Who star was caught up in incident in the Californian town of Palm Springs on Saturday afternoon.
The police officers were responding to reports of a domestic dispute when they came under fire.
Barrowman said: "There’s been a shooting in Palm Springs, two police officers have died and one is, I guess injured.

"It’s literally 200, 300 yards away from our house and police helicopters are circling.
"We don’t know if the person is still on the loose or what’s going on but the neighbourhood is on lockdown and everything is shutdown.

"Hopefully the police will be able to get the situation under control but it’s quite terrible.
"Everything is fine this end but it’s just an awful thing, someone out to shoot policemen."
The police officers killed were named as Jose Gilbert Vega and Lesley Zerebny.
