SCOTLAND’S first professional netball team are preparing to take to the court.
The Glasgow-based Scottish Sirens will compete in the Vitality Netball Superleague, broadcast by Sky Sports.
The team, set up in partnership with The University of the West of Scotland, feature players from all over the world and they will play their homes games at the Emirates Arena.
Players include Rachel Forbes, who competed for Scotland at Glasgow 2014 and the 2015 Netball World Cup, Carla Borrego, the team’s 6ft 4in Jamaican-Australian goal attack, and New Zealander Ellen Halpenny, who won silver with her country at Glasgow 2014.
A team of celebrities will compete in a half-time challenge match, including Kaye Adams, Jennifer Reoch and Carol Smillie.
