A British discount fashion retail chain which claims to be the nation’s “fastest-growing” is set to open its first Glasgow-based ‘shop-in-a-shop’ outlet.

Pep&Co will be hitting the city’s Poundland on Argyle Street this Friday, 10th March.

The new branch will be the company’s 82nd.

The store, which will offer a full range of women’s, men’s, and kids’ fashion, will feature Pep&Co’s full range - but not at the expense of Poundland’s existing offer.

Through clever use of existing space, the store has the capacity to accommodate a full Pep&Co without reducing existing ranges, said the company.

Pep&Co managing director, Adrian Mountford, anticipated the new Glasgow shop-in-shop will have “a huge impact”  for the city’s fashion-conscious shopper.

He said: “We might be a new brand, but we’re one that customers love once they find us.

“We’re giving Glasgow access to the brand much more rapidly than we could on our own.

“The combination of Pep&Co’s design and style credentials - with pricing that’s amazing - will help create a brand new option that helps mums on a budget.”

Overall, a rapid and ambitious rollout will see the company open 50 ‘shop-in-shops’ in Poundlands across the UK in just 100 days.

The move echoes its launch onto Britain’s high streets in the summer of 2015 when it opened 50 standalone stores in just 50 days.
