The incident reportedly took place on the 11.30 train at Anniesland on Sunday night, just hours after the old firm.

The incident has been reported to the British Transport Police.

Inspector Lynda Lang from British Transport Police, said: “I am aware that this assault may have been recorded by a passenger and uploaded to YouTube. I would desperately urge the person who recorded this to contact us as soon as possible. You are not in trouble and you could help us investigate what happened.

“The video clearly shows a man being violently assaulted by another passenger on this service. It is unclear what provoked this assault but it is clearly unacceptable and we will not tolerate this.”
