Frankie Boyle fans were mid-chuckle towards the end of the comedian’s Glasgow show - when the gig ended in a rather bizarre fashion.

The audience was evacuated from the King’s Theatre on Wednesday night with just ten minutes to go.

The Scots comedian even stepped up to offer his apologies to the audience who had paid around £30 per ticket.

He said: “Sorry for the bizarre end to the King’s tonight with the fire alarm and evacuation. At least it was at the end of the show. Safe home people.”

It is understood an alarm was accidentally activated and that no further action was taken out by emergency services.

The confusion and chaos was clear on Twitter.

Some fans were just plain gutted:

Some took the sensationalist route:

Glaswegians’ intelligence levels were even questioned:

Some folk were just chancing their luck - and good on them for trying:

Frankie’s second gig is set to go ahead at the Bath Street venue tonight.
