Buckfast fans are being invited to take part in World Buckfast Day 2017.

The tonic wine, which is popular in Scotland, has been given it's own celebration this year following on from the popularity of previous events.

This year, Buckfast Day will be celebrated on May 13.

An event to celebrate the date has been launched on Facebook, with over 1,300 people confirmed as attending.

Last year, the first national event was recognised by more than 25,000 people.

According to the event, the day can be enjoyed at home, with friends and out and about, as long as you enjoy your Bucky safely.

Fans are encouraged to register their interest at the event here

Wreck the Hoose Juice Facebook admin and event coordinator Michael Onk previously said: "We realised that Bucky had a cult following throughout the UK and Ireland but we were unaware of just how many people longed for the wine abroad.

Stewart Wilson, from Buckfast's distribution company, J Chandler, said: "The national event started last year by loyal consumers of our brand and through social media we have established that fans of Buckfast are now calling it World Buckfast Day."
