TRIBUTES have been paid to a 21-year-old who died in Loch Lomond.

Stuart McLevy fell from a ‘jet ski’ into the water during a day out with his friends.

He was described as “one of a kind” by his brother.

The 21-year-old Yoker man had been riding on the craft with a 37-year-old man, who went in to the water to try and rescue him after he fell near Inchmurran island.

Police were called around 9.15pm on Saturday but Stuart was unresponsive, and was pronounced dead at the Royal Alexandra a short time later.

Almost £5000 has been raised to put towards “an amazing send off” for the young man.

A fundraising page has been set up for the body builder’s funeral.

On the fundraising page, Jayson wrote: “My brother was tragically taken far too young and we want to give him the best possible send off that we can.

“Stuart touched the hearts of everyone that he ever met – such a big loud personality

“Truly one of a kind.

“I love and will miss him till I go too.”

Dozens of tributes flooded in on social media for the tragic body builder, who had been with his friends on a trip to the popular tourist spot when his life was cut short.

Donald Mackay, who was with him on the day of the incident, posted a photograph of himself with Stuart and said “RIP Stu, what a day we were all having yesterday. Still can’t believe it – you’ll be missed by many.”

Another friend, Stuart Davis, wrote: “Rest in peace Stu McLevy my brother.

“Never forget the memories we had bro. You were a class act brother. I can’t believe this man.”

Other pals commented that they were in “disbelief” and said the 21-year-old was the “nicest guy you will ever meet” who was “taken away so young.”

Police have appealed for more information on the incident, and said a post mortem is still to be carried out to establish the full cause of death.

A report will also be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.

Inspector John McMillan said: “One man has died and another man is receiving treatment following this incident.

“We understand Stuart McLevy fell from the jet ski and entered the water.

“The 37-year-old man who was driving also entered the water attempted to assist.

“Other individuals who were also on the water on private vessels quickly came to the aid of both men and brought them back to shore at the Duncan Mills Memorial Slipway at Balloch where paramedics

“At this time I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident from the shoreline to contact officers at Dumbarton Police Station via 101. Our inquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident.”
