Scotrail will be adding more carriages and implementing queuing systems at stations as hundreds of fans are expected to go by train to see The Stone Roses this Saturday.

With services expected to be busier than normal the rail company has announced there will be more carriages to services between Glasgow Central and Mount Florida railway station with the concert taking place at Hampden Park.

A queuing system at Central and Mount Florida will also be implemented before and after the gig.

When the concert finishes, fans are also being advised to head back to station as quickly as possible after the show to join the line on Bolton Drive.

A ScotRail Alliance spokesman said: “We’re looking forward to helping fans travel by train to see The Stone Roses this weekend.

“Our advice to customers is to make sure you’re aware of your travel options for both legs of your journey and, if possible, leave extra time for your journey as trains are likely to be busier than normal. Buying tickets in advance will also help reduce your queuing time.”

Scotrail will also have more staff on the ground to help manage the expected increase of commuters on the day.

The company have also said those going to the gig should allow extra time for travel and book tickets in advance.

Tickets are available from staffed stations, telesales on 0344 811 0141, and via the ScotRail mobile app or website www.scotrail.co.uk
