A TEENAGER has been arrested after a powercut caused misery to hundreds of residents.

On June 26 a fire at an electricity substation in Napier Drive, Govan destroyed a distribution box at around 6.30pm.

Scottish Fire and Rescue were called out to extinguish the flames and engineers were then called out to fix the problem.

Some of the affected homes went without power for up to six hours.

An investigation was launched in to the incident and ScottishPower offered a £3,000 reward to anyone who had information that would lead to an arrest.

Police can now confirm a 15-year-old boy has been arrested for alleged vandalism at the substation.

A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal and the Scottish Children's Reporters Administration.
