TOOT had just caught the end of the summer sales.

She came home to Tec Towers laden with bags and yet another bikini.

"When will you be needing this lot of summer gear," I inquired. Only to be told it was for next year.

Too tired to pull together a microwave meal, Toots demanded, sorry suggested we got out for the night.

If you thought the Finnieston area had reached its peak, think again.

Another new addition has arrived. Monty's just off Radnor Street opened its door and already word had got out.

Sandwiched between Argyle Street and Sauchiehall Street near the entrance to Kelvingrove, it is an ideal location.

Approaching the joint, there was a few people already enjoying a pint outside and when we walked in the place was in full swing.

We walked in and the place was jumping. I spied a few tables for two which were free, but thought they were a little close together.

Our host showed us to a table in a little corner pocket of the restaurant.

Three tables were close together and I initially feared that we might be forgotten about, but as the night went on this was certainly not the case.

We ordered up a couple of pinot grigio's and looked through the menu. It was full of fresh sounding dishes and not too big a menu either.

I opted for the bread and olive oil, while her ladyship went for the carrot and coriander soup.

There was certainly a few tempting dishes to go for, but in the end we both opted for fish.

For me it had to be the fish and chips - plain and simple and no mushy peas on the side!

Toots however was going all Mediterranean on me with sea bass fillets and a sundried tomato and olive tapenade mash on the side.

The wine was going down a treat and I was really beginning to enjoy the atmosphere.

Monty's had been given a full make over and I loved the high ceilings and ornate detail. The brickwork walls and mirrors really made the place and it almost had a New York type of vibe to.

Back to Glasgow however and our starters soon arrived.

My bread was a little too on the herby side for me, but was still pleasant.

Toots soup was a meal in itself - she could have literally stood her spoon up in it.

"This is delicious, Tec," piped up Toots. "The flavour is awesome."

We were off to a good start and we were looking forward to our mains.

Dishes were being brought to tables all around, and Toots red talons were tapping on the table as she felt we were having too long to wait.

However a server was soon over to tell us our mains would not be much longer.

A feast of food arrived and I could not wait to get stuck in.

My fish and chips looked great and did not fail to deliver on taste. It was piping hot as well - just how I like my food.

Toots was getting stuck into the sea bass. She gave it the full thumbs up.

"This is just heaven. Succulent sea bass and I am lovin the mash," The Moll enthused.

Happy diners all round.

For a new kid on the block this place has certainly got off to a great start and I think it will soon become a Finnieston favourite.
