THE mother of a young father who was gunned down in a Castlemilk housing estate has made an emotional appeal for a wanted man to come forward.

Annfrances Dearie asked Facebook users to share an image of Jordan Owen on the social media website in a bid to track him down.

The 23-year-old has been missing for almost two months and it is believed he can assist police with the investigation into the death of Annfrances' son Jamie Lee.

Jamie died from injuries when he was shot during a large-scale disturbance in Ballantay Terrace in the town on Saturday, July 8. Police Scotland have already made several arrests over the incident.

The force, however, have been unable to track down Owen and Crimestoppers have even offered a £5,000 award for information about the 23-year-old whereabouts.

In the heartbreaking post Annfrances said: "My world has been shattered. I've lost the most caring loving son who would help anybody and always had a smile for everyone.

"Jamie became a dad three weeks before his death and was totally devoted and full of pride at the birth of his baby boy.

"He had so much to look forward to and was just beginning his new life with his partner and baby boy who has been left devastated at this."

She pleaded for Owen to be tracked down and continued: "There is a £5,000 Crime stoppers reward leading to his arrest, this can be done and claimed anonymously.

"He could be anywhere."

Glasgow Times:

A Police Scotland spokesman previously appealed over Owen, above.

He said: “He is considered dangerous and should not be approached by the public.

“Anyone who recognises Owen is asked not to approach him but to contact the police.”

Owen is described as 5ft 8 inches in height, slim build, with short brown hair.

A Police Scotland spokesman added: “It is requested that anyone with information as to his whereabouts contact Police Scotland as a matter of urgency on 101 or the incident room at Govan Police Office on 0141 532 5415 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers on 0800555111.”

The Evening Times also previously reported on how the community of Castlemilk celebrated the birthday of Jamie Lee.

Dozens of people turned out to release the tri-colour balloons for Jamie Lee’s birthday 23rd birthday which fell weeks after his death.

Attached to the balloons were notes which were ‘messages to heaven’ for the popular young man.

Jamie had also became a dad to his son Jae in the weeks prior to his death.

He welcomed the tot with his 22-year-old partner Laura Ward.
