It’s one of the city’s most recognisable buildings - particularly among students who find themselves staggering in and out of The Garage nightclub in Sauchiehall Street at the weekends.
Now, though, for those who are looking to get their foot onto the property ladder for the first time, a flat inside the Art Deco Beresford building has hit the market.
Formerly the Beresford Hotel, which was once student halls for the University of Strathclyde before being converted into a private residence, the one-bedroom flat also consists of an open plan lounge and kitchen, and shower room and WC.

Built in 1938, the Beresford is one of Glasgow’s finest examples of Art Deco, and shares similar attributes to New York Art Deco buildings like the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building.
The Beresford was also considered Glasgow’s first skyscraper and the tallest building in the city between the two world wars.
Strathclyde University sold the building in 2002 and it was converted into 121 units but, being a B-listed building, the interiors have been beautifully preserved.

The flat is accessed through restored Art Deco-style communal areas with concierge service, residents lift, central light, and a stunning façade surrounding.
Caroline Young, spokeswoman for property agent SPC Scotland, said: “The entrance with revolving doors, geometric archways, sleek staircase and modernist murals are really awe-inspiring, and would certainly be of endless interest for those living there.”
Flat 2, 460 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, G2 3JU is being marketed through Aberdein Considine, with offers over £99,000.
