THE MUM of a primary kid whose school attendance was just seven per cent has appeared in court.

The woman, who can't be named for legal reasons, appeared at Glasgow Sheriff Court before Sheriff Gerard Bonnar.

She was charged with failing to get her child to attend his South Side primary school regularly, with his attendance falling as low as just seven mper cent between August and October 2016.

The boy, who was 11 at the time, has now improved his attendance, according to the woman's solicitor.

She told the court the child has now got a 59 per cent attendance rate, with the school proving extra support to help him get on better in class.
