A MAN who stood outside a pharmacy window and creepily stared in at a counter assistant has been jailed.

Glasgow Sheriff Court was told that Joe Michael Yexley entered the Honey Pharmacy in the city's Alexandra Parade on September 18, 2017, at around 10.50am.

An assistant asked the 28-year-old if he had been served. After requesting an item that was not in stock, the accused then started to behave oddly.

When outside, Yexley put his face to the glass window and stared in at the worker – which was also witnessed by a member of the public. The police were called, but by the time they arrived the accused had left the scene.

At 12.50pm he returned and was spotted walking past the pharmacy, again staring in towards the same counter assistant. The police arrived and arrested Yexley, of no fixed abode, for the menacing behaviour.

Admitting the charge, the accused was sentenced to 70 days in prison – backdated to September 19 from when he was held in custody.
