Filming is expected to run from around 4pm until midnight at the Barras.
A source told The Sun: "There’s been a lot of secrecy about the venue and what exactly will be filmed until now.
"Liam is the man of the moment and it’s a boost for the Barrowlands to be used as the set.
"It’s still the heart and soul of the city, but it is still able to change with the times."
Earlier this year, the singer launched his first solo album As You Were which received widespread critical acclaim and debuted at number one in the charts.
He also played the city's Barrowlands in June and is due to perform at the SSE Hydro on December 4.
