Famous landmarks across the country are being lit up red to show support for this year's Poppy Appeal.

As part of the Light Up Red Campaign, more than 30 buildings, structures and sculptures across the country have been illuminated with red lighting.

Landmarks raising awareness for the charity Poppy Scotland include The Kelpies, Edinburgh Castle and Drumlanrig Castle in Dumfriesshire.

Millions fell silent across the country at 11am today to to remember those who died in the nation’s wars and conflicts.

Events have been held across the country to mark the 99th anniversary of the end of the First World War.

The landmarks will remain red until Monday in support of the cause.
