Glasgow’s hugely-popular Christmas lights switch-on event is set to take place in George Square this weekend as some 16,000 lucky ticket-holders cram into the area and its surrounding areas to soak up the festivities.

But, while families enjoy themselves, as expected, drivers are being warned of travel disruption and road closures ahead of the weekend.

So, without further ado, motorists should avoid the following routes at the following times:
