TRAIN services between Glasgow and Neilston have been severely disrupted today due to damage to overhead wires in the Whitecraigs area.
The damage has resulted in the closure of the line with all services suspended.
ScotRail expect the disruption to last until the end of the day - despite engineers working on the damaged wires since early afternoon.
In a series of tweets, ScotRail advised commuters of alternative routes including; Cathcart Circle, Barrhead or East Kilbride. A bus shuttle is also in operation between Barrhead and Neilston.

At around 8pm on Tuesday, ScotRail announced that an hourly bus service would run between Glasgow and Neilston, calling at Muirend, Williamwood, Whitecraigs, Patterton and Neilston in both directions.
These will operate at 35 mins past the hour from Glasgow 28 mins past the hour from Neilston.
