A MEMBER of the public contacted the police to report an alleged drink driver who was more than five times over the limit.
Inverclyde cops said the 59-year-old was arrested on Thursday in Brown Street, Port Glasgow.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: "A 59-year-old man was arrested on Thursday night at Brown Street in Port Glasgow after a concerned member of the public contacted police.
"The man was found to be more than five times over the drink drive limit.
"Thank you for the call, you might have just prevented a terrible accident."
