COPS are appealing for information after a man was hit by a car in Paisley.

At 6.05pm on Friday, January 26, a 27-year-old man was walking in Oliphant Crescent when he was struck by a dark coloured vehicle.

Emergency services attended and the man was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment. He has since been released.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and detectives are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Detective Inspector Ian Ross from Paisley CID said: “One line of enquiry is that the victim may have been pursued and deliberately struck by this vehicle and it is vital that anyone who saw what happened contacts the police.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Oliphant Crescent on Friday evening around 6pm who noticed a dark coloured car driving erratically, or anything at all suspicious, to get in touch.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Paisley CID via 101, quoting incident number 3106 of Friday, January 26. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where details can be given in confidence.”
