A PENSIONER who requires daily medication has vanished from Glasgow's Bellgrove Hotel promoting a search operation by the police.

Ian Williamson, 74, left the Bellgrove Hotel in the Gallowgate at around 11.30am on Tuesday, February 6 and headed towards Duke Street to carry out some errands.

The last confirmed sighting of Ian is on CCTV images in Duke Street around 1.20pm on Tuesday.

He failed to return to the Bellgrove Hotel and staff reported him missing on Wednesday, February 7.

He is white, around 5ft 4 inches in height, with a slim build, white hair and a white beard. He was wearing a blue puffa jacket, light blue jeans and black and white trainers.

Police said Ian tends to stick to a routine and doesn’t stray far from the Calton, Gallowgate and Duke Street areas.

Officers are continuing to review CCTV footage for any information which could assist them in tracing him.

Sergeant Simon Finnieston said: “It’s out of character for Ian not to return to the Bellgrove Hotel and he requires daily medication which police don’t believe he has with him. If anyone has seen Ian or has any information of knowledge as to his whereabouts, please contact us. We just want to make sure Ian is safe and well.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at Shettleston via 101, quoting incident number 2393 of 6 February 2018. Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously.
