COFFEE chain Tim Hortons has revealed the opening date for its latest Scottish branch.

The new restaurant will open near Whitletts Roundabout in Ayr at noon on February 19.

And bosses are offering the first 100 people in the queue a free lunch with the first person in the queue gifted a VIP coffee card giving them a year's free coffee.

Tim Hortons branch openings have caused a stir in the past with hundreds queueing overnight to be among the first over the doorstep.

The first Tim Hortons restaurant in the UK opened on Argyle Street at the start of June 2017.

Doughnut fans travelled from across the country and queued overnight to be the first to sample the brand’s coffee and baked goods.

Further Tim Hortons restaurant openings in Glasgow, Manchester and Cardiff generated similar levels of excitement.

Kevin Hydes, Chief Finance and Commercial Officer of the Tim Hortons franchise in the UK, said: “We’re excited to be bringing our expansion to the beautiful town of Ayr this month - our sixth store in Scotland.

"The buzz we’ve seen since our first opening in Glasgow last summer has exceeded all expectations and we can’t wait to open our doors and welcome Guests from the Ayr community at our brand new restaurant on February 19."
